Found a 2GHz processor for it for less than $10 online. Up from 1.7GHz.

Ah. I'm running an AMD 8 core 3.6GHz (overclockable to 4.2GHz) that I picked up on a black friday sale for $190 with a liquid cooler included.

Still, less than $10 for a CPU? Holy crap that's a good deal. How much RAM?

1.5GB. I want to max it out at 2GB, but DDR RAM be expensive, yo.

My desktop is an i7 3770K OC'd to 4GHz and I got 16GB RAM. Building your own is always better IMO. Unfortunately, you can't really build your own laptops, but this ThinkPad is quite easy to work with.

I've never had a great track record of reliability with my laptops, so I kinda strayed away from them. Anything I need to do away from home I can do on my phone...

I also have 16GB of DDR3 at PC1600. It's the most I'll need for quite a while.

I can't use my phone for half the things I do on my laptop.

16GB RAM FTW. I have it on my desktop and my other laptop.

I'm so glad I finally got to the point where my laptop takes DDR3. It's so much cheaper than DDR or SDRAM.
